Daily Style: Maids Dress & Circle Lens Review

I was very excited to win a competition on facebook where I won a pair of coloured circle lenses of my choice! When they arrived, I wanted to do an outfit test straight away!

These are my first coloured lenses I have tried, I have tried normal contact lenses but I didn't like them, my eyes would blur and sting. So I thought there would be no point in me buying some coloured lenses. But since I won some in a competition, it is the perfect opportunity for me to test them out!

Let's start with some of the usual outfit photos. I have on my new yellow maids outfit, which I had to sew panels into the side to make it larger like the blue one I previously wrote about this year on here.

Outfit:

Dress: Yellow Japanese style maids dress I bought second hand. As usual it was way too small so I have sewn in two white panels down the sides of the dress to make it larger! Works a charm. This dress is super cute, I love the lace and white detail on the front. I really love these maids dresses they are just so adorable, although I am not sure if I can really wear them very much :(

Wigs: Blue wig with ponytails from eBay.

Socks: eBay

Shoes: Second hand rocking horse shoes.

Lenses: these lenses are from Beautifeye, a UK based circle lens webstore.

Now let's get into some detail about the lenses.

I really didn't know what colour scheme to go for, but I quite like the grey looking ones. I have seen a lot of people using the dark, extra large ones to get that "big eyed" look, but I have read that the larger they are the more uncomfortable they can be. So I decided to go for some normal sized ones, in grey called Grey Glamour by ColourVUE.

Here is a close up comparison of my eyes:

I didn't really know what the grey colour would look like over my light blue eyes, but they kind of have a brown tone in the middle of the lenses, which is quite interesting and pretty! I guess with darker eyes they make the dark colour more grey, like in the photo on the item link here.

I was surprised at how quickly I managed to put the lenses in as well! They are super soft and easy to wear, considering my throw away contact lenses I tried before would make my eyes blur and sting. These didn't hurt my eyes at all, although there is a strange blurring and darkness around the edges of my pupils, due to the dark lenses. Luckily I read about that in advanced and it is totally normal.

The lenses came in their separate cases and I was also supplied with a lens case and lens cleaning solution. After I wore them, I filled the case with the solution and put the corresponding lens into the corresponding left or right lens case!

I am really interested in trying to wear these more, but I will do it slowly to get my eyes used to them!

One thing i noticed though, with the flash on the camera you could kind of see my own blue eye colour around the middle of the lenses. As seen above, the first 3 are without flash but the last has the flash on.

Overall, I would like to try more colours of lenses. I think the darker ones might work for me since my eyes are naturally light. I can't wait to try more! (when i eventually get a job to buy things -___-)

Thanks for reading! Och God Jul! Merry Christmas, here in Sweden we celebrate today on the 24th.
